Links Global seeks a Community Outreach Specialist in Baltimore, MD for a US government-funded program to support the government’s efforts to prevent drug abuse, specifically opioid abuse and the illegal use of heroin through community outreach with the goal of raising public awareness. The outreach specialists will need to be highly knowledgeable in the area of prescription drugs, diversion, trafficking, misuse, and abuse prevention, skilled in written and verbal communication, strategic communications models such as health promotion, social marketing, and behavior change communication, and able to work in collaboration with multiple levels of government, various agencies, offices, and departments, community based organizations, and private sector. Applicants are subject to passing a background check.
This is a great job for an indivudal who wants to work directly with the community including young children, youth and adults, and side-by-side with Federal and local law enforcement officers, and community organizations.
Employment Type: Temporary (one year project)
Work Days/Hours: 40 hours per week. Primarily M-F, normal day hours, but requires some weekend or evening hours to accomodate participation at community events. If you work late or a Saturday, you take other time off during the work week.
The primary duties of the position include:
Work requires frequent travel to various sites within a state/multi-state area. Personal vehicle is required.
Applicants selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements. Disqualifiers include personal history such as recent or repeated felony or misdemeanor convictions, pending criminal charges, illegal drug use, and debt-related issues.
