Links Global is recruiting for a 508 Compliance Support Specialist possessing Section 508 compliance expertise and proficiency in working with a variety of Microsoft and Adobe software, Acrobat, InDesign, Premiere, and Captivate.

The position will be based in Washington, DC at a federal agency.

Position is anticipated for a 5-year term.

Fringe Benefits included: Vacation, sick leave, Federal holidays, Medical and life insurance, 401k plan. Hourly wage based on $80k per year.

Job Duties

  • Ensure that websites, applications, and other electronic communication products comply with Section 508 requirements (http://section508.gov/) and are easy, efficient, and effective to use for specific audiences utilizing a variety of software: Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Indesign, Dreamweaver, video editing, & Captivate and testing software such as JAWs
  • Apply knowledge of computer science principles, information management principles, hardware and software systems’ structures and operation, and computer programming languages and techniques to ensure end-product deployment. 
  • Design, develop, and maintain web based applications e.g. Adobe Captivate and websites used as eLearning tools.
  • Collaborate with customer subject matter experts and other staff to develop and update content on websites and within web based applications. 
  • Consistently ensure that standardized template, format, brand, and identity standards are met and approval processes are followed. 
  • Actively participate in meetings required for current projects, team or work unit activities, and mandatory training. 
  • Provide oral reports and briefing materials to colleagues and supervisors when required.
  • Provide recommendations that reflect clear knowledge and application of current web app and website design and development subject matter. 
  • Provide administrative support for activities pertaining to software applications utilizing commercial database management systems.
  • Provide user administration, data gathering, data retrieval, and manipulations.
  • Review computer systems in terms of machine capabilities and man-machine interface.
  • Prepare reports and studies concerning hardware.
  • Prepare functional requirements and specifications.

Qualification Requirements

  • Professional certificates such as CPWA or DHS or equivalent.
  • Bachelors degree or reputable certificate(s) in creative arts
  • Minimum of five years of experience with relevant training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, PPT, Adobe Acrobat, Indesign, Video editing software, Captivate
  • Experience designing materials to be Section 508 compliant
  • Job Requires Federal Suitability Investigation
