Multimedia Designer for Section 508 Compliance

Links Global is recruiting for a Multimedia Designer possessing Section 508 compliance expertise and proficiency in working with a variety of Microsoft and Adobe software, InDesign, Premiere, and Captivate. The position will be based in Atlanta, GA at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).  This is a great way to get your foot in the door at a Federal agency.  

Position is anticipated for a 3-year term.

Job Duties

  • Ensure that websites, applications, and other electronic communication products comply with the latest Section 508 requirements (http://section508.gov/) and are easy, efficient, and effective to use for specific audiences. 
  • Design, develop, and maintain web based applications and websites using Microsoft Office and Adobe Software tools such as PDF Professional, InDesign, Captivate, and Dreamweaver for eLearning tools in the Public Health and Healthcare industries. 
  • Apply knowledge of computer science principles, information management principles, hardware and software systems’ structures and operation, and computer programming languages and techniques to ensure end-product deployment.
  • Collaborate with customer subject matter experts and other staff to develop and update content on websites and within web based applications. 
  • Consistently ensure that standardized template, format, brand, and identity standards are met and approval processes are followed. 
  • Actively participate in meetings required for current projects, team or work unit activities, and mandatory training. 
  • Provide oral reports and briefing materials to colleagues and supervisors when required. Position will work with Section 508 committees and various health program offices
  • Provide recommendations that reflect clear knowledge and application of current web app and website design and development subject matter. 
  • Provide administrative support for activities pertaining to software applications utilizing commercial database management systems.
  • Provide user administration, data gathering, data retrieval, and manipulations.
  • Review computer systems in terms of machine capabilities and man-machine interface.
  • Prepare reports and studies concerning hardware.
  • Prepare functional requirements and specifications.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or reputable certificate(s) in creative arts
  • Minimum of two years of experience with relevant training that provides the required knowledge,skills, and abilities.
  • Training or ample experience in SEction 508 compliance for multimedia products
  • Experience with Adobe Creatie Suite, Captivate, Premiere, InDesign, HTML, and Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to document and write a findings reports based on research of existing materials compliance
